Our first event of the semester, and we’re glad to have you back.
Most of what we do at Munich Music Labs sits on the technical side of music: signals, models, instruments, code. This evening is about the other side, the one that decides what happens to a song once it’s finished. What do labels look for in an artist? How does a career actually get built? And what goes on behind the scenes before a track lands in your playlist?
We’ll talk about all of it openly. No polished version, no press release. Unplugged.
Our guest
Willy Ehmann spent 16 years at Sony Music, most recently as Senior Vice President Music Domestic for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Today he runs his own artist management and publishing company, Schallauge, and works with artists like Tim Bendzko. He has seen the industry from the label side and from the artist’s side, which makes him the right person to ask.
Who it’s for
Musicians wondering how the industry works for them. Engineers and developers who love music and want to know where their tools end up. Anyone who is simply curious. You don’t need to know anything about the music business, just bring your questions.
Come early
Doors open at 5:30pm with drinks and snacks on us. The conversation starts at 6:00pm and leaves plenty of room for questions from the audience. Afterwards we stay for drinks and conversation, with our guest and with the rest of the room.
Please register on Luma so we know how many drinks to get.
